Bear Mark

February 14th, 2007

My name is Mark, and I am 28 years old currently splitting my time
between Athens, Ohio and Columbus, Ohio.  I am getting my master's
degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in the non-profit
sector. I'd like to make a difference.

Athens is a very small place, and as much as I love the outdoors and
escaping city life, I'm a city boy at heart, and this is why I have
been spending every weekend back in Columbus. I still have a lot of
ties to this city including some close friends, family, and a part
time job I just can't seem to stay away from (barista at a local
coffee shop).

Personality wise it's hard to put a label on me of any kind. I
wouldn't really clot myself in with the 'bears' apart from the fact
that physically speaking I look like one, and it just so happens that
I am physically attracted to this type of man too. As far as attitudes
or lifestyle choices go, I'm not one to go to the bars or whip out
your standard "woof-slurp-oink-lick-poke-grrrrs." I find it somewhat
amusing that a subgroup within the gay community has its own sub
language, but it's just not something I aspire to be like.

I also would never say that I'm just a regular guy. I don't really
know that many regular guys. Regular to me can somehow imply boring.
Regular or normality to one guy can also mean something totally
different to some other guy anyway. I'm definitely not your
run-of-the-mill kind of guy. I'd rather get a massage than fix a
house; I'd rather go for a hike or take a meditation class than play a
game of football; I'd rather get together with a small group of
quality friends than go to a gay bar (ANY DAY!).

A bit more about me: You could say that I'm a pretty versatile kind of
guy. I'm laid back, sarcastic, passionate, compassionate, caring,
sensitive, genuine, a bit of a free spirit, well-travelled, worldly,
assertive, gregarious, pretty positive, and a lot of fun to be around.
I value nothing more than my friendships and family. Period.

The kind of guy I'd eventually like to meet is someone up for a life
partnership. I've dated many different kinds of guys, so my "type" is
not set in stone. However, I'd like to find someone who appreciates me
for me and does not wish to change who I am. Physically speaking I
tend to be attracted to guys who are well-built with some muscle tone,
but I don't mind a little belly. I've got one too, so it's all good!
;) I love guys with a big smile and a big heart. Someone who
appreciates animals, the outdoors, family, and friendships as much as
I do. I guess the rest just depends on chemistry.

If you see something that intrigues you, please feel free to write.
Thank you for all of the "I Likes" and compliments. I appreciate the
encouragement and all of the kind words. This site has some amazing
men on it!

:) Mark
